  7.     Okictrl switches an Okidata 840 laser printer between its various print
  8. modes.  This printer can be set to Postscript,  Hewlet Packard Series II or
  9. Diablo  630  emulation.  While the  Postscript mode gives you the  greatest
  10. printing power, many software packages don't support this format. You can't
  11. print a ASCII files when the printer is in Postscript mode.  Okictrl is the
  12. alternative to changing settings by hand, time after time.                 
  13.                                                                            
  14.      Okictrl is a program that will switch the printer from any setting  to
  15. any other one.  You can run it from the DOS prompt or you can build it into
  16. a batch  file that runs the  problem program.  You put  Okictrl before  and
  17. after the program. For example: to run your printer in HP mode for ASEASYAS
  18. you would make the following batch:

  24. Using OKICTRL

  26. to use okictrl you enter use the following format:

  30.       Okictrl requires one parameter.  If you enter more than one parameter,
  31. only the first has any effect.  The parameters can be any of the  following:
  32.         ?   help documentation,                                        
  33.         p   HP to Postscript setup,                                         
  34.         h   Postscript to HP setup,                                         
  35.         1   HP to Diablo 630 setup,                                         
  36.         2   Diablo 630 to HP setup,                                         
  37.         d   Postscript to Diablo setup,                                     
  38.         P   Disablo to Postscript.

  40. You notice that case does count. Upper case letters are different from lower
  41. case ones. You can use this programme from DOS or with batches invoked under
  42. Microsoft Windows 3.0.  However,  remember this programme changes the  setup
  43. of the printer,  not Windows.  You must set the printer back to its original
  44. setup by using Okictrl a second time so that the setup matches Windows.
